The percentage table covers this controlled sample only. Actual recovery depends on overwriting, fragmentation, card health, camera behavior, plus the file system used.
Start with the failure type. A simple deletion from a healthy card favors a file-system-aware tool that can preserve names plus folders. A reformatted card may need signature scanning. Camera video, burst shooting, plus some RAW workflows can create fragmented files, so a tool with camera-specific reconstruction deserves extra weight.
Preview support matters more than a huge found-file count. A thumbnail proves far more than a filename does. Also check whether the software can create or scan a byte-level image. Repeatedly scanning an unstable physical card adds avoidable stress.
Do not put the card back into the camera to see whether the pictures return. Cameras may create folders, databases, or fresh files automatically. Avoid CHKDSK, First Aid, formatting prompts, plus repair commands until the recoverable data is safely copied elsewhere.
